Spring is in the air, well, it was a few days ago anyway. And before we know it, the nice temperatures will bring out the buyers. Now is definitely the time to prepare your home if you're planning to sell. We have all heard the saying about first impressions, and you know the little things can make a huge difference. Today we are sharing three tips to help you boost your chances of getting the most showings and eventually making these buyer's short lists!
1. Clean and Declutter
It's time to channel your inner Marie Kondo. Start getting rid of things that don't "bring joy," and also go through the little "catch-all" spots in your home, say, by your front door, and find a place for those things. Buyers want to envision themselves in your home, which is sometimes difficult if it is overcrowded with your stuff! And don't just stash things away, because most buyers are snoopy! They'll check out your closets and cabinets (did you know a closet that is 75% full appears 100% full??) to see what kind of storage they'll be working with, and you want them to know there's plenty of space! Next, deep clean!! We can't emphasize this enough. Potential buyers want to know the home has been well taken care of, and that grease stuck to your vent in the kitchen gives the opposite impression of that. We'd even go so far to suggest that you clean windows and power wash the outside of your home!
2. Fix small issues
Marker on the walls (hello, my house with three tiny artists!), leaky faucets, burned out lightbulbs - all these little things you can do yourself in a matter of a few hours (or days if repainting!) will make showings that much better!

3. 2 words - CURB APPEAL
Of course, you want the inside of your home to be inviting. But first, you have to get buyers to the inside, which means ushering the past the exterior, up the sidewalk, past the shrubs and flower beds, onto the porch, and through the front door. Make sure everything they walk past has been tidied or repaired.
Just a few small things over the course of a weekend or two can add up to bring in more showings when you list your house and hopefully a quick offer!
